WHO WE ARE

We are a nonprofit orchid society located in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  The purpose of the society is to promote the advancement of knowledge and appreciation of orchids.  We welcome all those who are interested in orchids in particular, but also anyone who appreciates flowers of all types.  Come and see what we have to show you!

I hope to be able to update this page each month with news about our meetings, speakers, planned trips and events, and to post pictures of all our plant of the month winners.

WHERE WE MEET

The Sandhills Orchid Society Meets in Fayetteville, NC at the MacPherson Presbyterian Church.  The Church is located at 3525 Cliffdale Rd. (At the intersection with McPherson Church Rd.)  Meetings start at  7 PM, the Tuesday after the second Monday of each month.  Come about 6:30 to meet everyone, enjoy the show table and to get the first choice of the sale Plants.

VISITORS ARE MOST WELCOME!

To get a map or driving directions to the Church,

  We meet in the fellowship hall in the back of the church so drive around back.  Please do not park along the cemetery side of the lane.

Our annual Growers Day was held April 5th 2008 at the new FTCC Horticulture Building at the Cape Fear Botantical Gardens.  This is a great day of learning and fun.  Plan now to attend this year.  To learn more

Our Annual Orchid Auction was held on Saturday October 6th 2007 at 11AM.  It was  held at the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens.  For information, directions or to view the action at This years auction.

Our 7th Annual Orchid Fest was held on Saturday, March 19th from 9:00 - 4pm, at Owen Garden Center & Nursery.   We had free demonstrations, displays, and of course orchids for sale.

This years Growers Day will  held on April 5th 2008!   This is an excellent opportunity to learn to grow and bloom your orchids.  This is primarily aimed at the beginner grower, but experenced grow will find it educational also.

The Sandhills Orchid Society Greenhouse Tour for 2007 was held Saturday May 5th.  The tour included tours of 3 member greenhouses in the Fayetteville area.  Lunch was  be served at Keith Clayton's greenhouse.  The tour will started at Eliot's house at 9:30 and continued to Joyce and Keith's greenhouses.  For pictures of this years tour
